Plane

Davits are built for ships and rarely taken to the skies.

However when a client in the Arabian Gulf urgently needed the very best davits the world could supply, they came to Vestdavit.

Vestdavit was able to work overtime and adjust its production schedule to build two HN-10000 davits, but there was no time to ship them to the Gulf.

No problem. The client sent an Antonov 124, the world’s largest plane, to Bergen to pick up the davits.

Vestdavit managing director, Rolf Andreas Wigand, said: "It’s quite something to see the world’s biggest plane loading the world’s best davits.

"Delivery and commissioning normally takes weeks, this was done in days."
