EuroTorp, the French-Italian consortium and world leader in the field of light-weight torpedo weapon systems, and Sener, the largest Spanish privately-owned engineering company, have signed an industrial co-operation agreement for the promotion and production of the advanced light-weight torpedo MU90, at Euronaval 2010 in Le Bourget, France. The aim of this agreement is to address a potential future acquisition by the Spanish Navy, if selected.

The parties have agreed to co-operate to pursue the objective of exploiting the Sener technological and industrial capability, for the manufacturing of some parts of MU90, including the installation of an assembly line in Spain, in the frame of a possible Spanish Navy future contract, and EuroTorp export market.

The MU90 lightweight torpedo is in service within the French, Italian, German, Polish and Danish navies, and has been accepted by the Commonwealth of Australia.
