The US Navy has awarded a $16m contract to Raytheon for support components of the the Aegis weapons system.
Under the contract, the company’s Integrated Defense Systems in Massachusetts will provide ordnance alteration kits for the AN/SPY-1 radar transmitter used in the Aegis system to enhance the radar’s processing performance and capability.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in Massachusetts and Virginia.
