Huntington Ingalls (HII) has been awarded a contract by the US Navy for continuation of long lead time material procurement for construction of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, John F. Kennedy (CVN 79).
Under the $56.5m modification contract, the company’s Newport News Shipbuilding division will be the prime contractor.
