The US Navy Program Executive Office Space Systems (PEO SS) has awarded a multi-year contract to SBG Technology Solutions to provide support services for the navy’s on-orbit communications capabilities for open-ocean, littoral and naval land missions.

Support services to be offered in the PMW 146 contract include operational maintenance, logistics, training, development, system testing and evaluation.

"We will use our longstanding experience with the navy and PEO SS to execute these mission-critical communications functions for the navy."

It also involves production support and integration of navy, joint military, foreign military and commercial communications systems, as well as encrypted secure networks and communication links.

PEO SS is aimed at coordinating the design, acquisition and operation of national security space programmes, in a bid to deliver complete on-orbit capabilities for open-ocean, littoral and naval land operations.

SBG will support the operational functionality, maintenance and management of such systems.

The agency will also develop, procure, integrate, produce, launch, test and deliver operational support to space systems in support of US Department of Defense and US agencies and enable joint, coalition, combined and naval missions.
