The UK’s Royal Navy Type-23 warship HMS Somerset has been deployed along the Somali coastline to collect intelligence information on pirates from the region.

In an effort to search for pirate camps near the shore, the warship has been using Lynx helicopters with powerful cameras to collect images of the coastline, buildings, people and skiffs.

The ship forms a part of the Taurus 09 task group, which is returning from the Far East after more than a decade.
