The US Navy has awarded a contract to General Dynamics Information Technology to design, document, develop, produce, test and deliver five automated digital network system Increment III submarine variant systems.

Under the contract, the company will provide programme management, configuration management, network architecture design, network management software, environmental and mechanical standards compliance, design support, on-site technical and integrated logistics support as well as training.

The development work will be carried out in Taunton, Massachusetts, and is expected to be complete by 31 July 2011.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in San Diego, California, has awarded the $6,105,087 contract under the previously awarded Air Force NETCENTS multiple award contract.
