Russia will deploy the Yury Dolgoruky, its first Borey Class strategic submarine, with the Pacific Fleet in 2011, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has said.

"The submarine is successfully undergoing trials. It should be delivered to the Pacific Fleet this year," RIA Novosti quotes Putin as saying.

The Yury Dolgoruky submarine successfully launched a Bulava missile at a range of 9,100km on 27 August 2011.

Moscow plans to construct eight Borey Class submarines by 2015.
