During the trials, the navy, along with the main subcontractors, will evaluate the the platform and sensor weapons as well as communications suite of the vessel.
The 3,750t Holland Class vessel can offer landing facilities for one NH-90 helicopter and features a 76mm Oto-Melara gun, rapid-fire 30mm gun and two 12.7mm Hitrole machine guns.
The navy received the first Holland Class vessel, the HrMs Holland, in May 2011 while the partial SATs for the Groningen, the third vessel in the series, are scheduled for the end of September.
