Saab has been awarded a task order from the Indian Maritime Authority Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships (DGLL) to supply a coastal surveillance system for the entire Indian coast.

The SEK116m ($16.6m) system order includes sensors and equipment for regional and national control centres.

According to the terms of the contract, Saab will provide installation, commissioning, training and support services along with Elcome Marine Services.

Apart from DGLL, the Indian Navy, Coast Guard and DG Shipping will also use the system.

The project will start immediately and will be completed within 18 months.
