NCI Information Systems has received a $13.4m five-year prime contract to provide rapid and secure network connections for the US Navy.
The Installation Fiber Optic Networking Support Services contract was awarded by the US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWD).
Under the contract, the company will design, engineer and install advanced connections through fibre optic networking support services.
NCI president and CEO Paul Dillahay said: “The operational readiness and survivability of today’s warfighters are more closely tied to the speed and security of network technology than at any time in our nation’s history.
“We are honoured to partner with IntelliBridge on this programme to support the navy with better, faster and more secure connectivity to support fleet modernisation and mission readiness at sea.”
NCI will work together with its partner IntelliBridge to deliver the contract works.
The companies will offer services, such as advanced network designs, fibre builds, and infrastructure mapping.
These will make computer connectivity for NAWCWD and NAVAIR seamless and secure, as well as ‘transform system interoperability’ and network integration.
Further, the partnership will see IntelliBridge continue its long-term support of the navy and NAVAIR in China Lake, California, US.
IntelliBridge chief operating officer Alan Thomas said: “Combining our deep understanding and experience of our Navy customer with NCI’s network support services expertise will help enable our naval warfighters to safeguard their operations and respond to potential threats more effectively.”
