July 2022 has seen a decrease of 11.9% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for an 11.23% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering an increase of 1.13% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 38.51% in July 2022, a 22.97% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 33.78% in July 2022, marking a 7.53% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 13.68% in July 2022, a 32.79% rise from June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 45.69% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Airbus posted 107 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 3.88% over the previous month, followed by Huntington Ingalls Industries with 105 jobs and a 52.17% growth. Thales with 84 IT jobs and European Space Agency with 60 jobs, recorded a 15.07% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while The Boeing recorded a 50% increase with 33 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 42.23% share in July 2022, a 19.62% increase over June 2022. France featured next with a 27.2% share, up 31.97% over the previous month. Germany recorded an 18.92% share, a drop of 45.63% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.78%, down by 17.14% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 35.47% share, registered a growth of 12.9% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.57% share, down 5.71% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.17%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
