Australia’s apparel industry registered a 12.2% rise in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.48% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.
Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.88% share in November 2021, recording an increase of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.02% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s apparel industry in November 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 66.34% in November 2021, registering a 70% growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 17.07% share, an increase of 16.67% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 8.29%, registering a 15% decline from October 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 4.39%, up 80% over the previous month.
Top five apparel companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 32.88% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s apparel industry during November 2021 over October 2021.
Wesfarmers posted 59 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 136% over the previous month, followed by Woolworths Group with 51 jobs and a 50% growth. Amazon with 49 IT jobs and Global Fashion Group with 24 jobs, recorded a 28.99% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Coles Group recorded a decline of 38.89% with 11 job postings during November 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.59%, up by 53.92% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 15.12% share, registered a decline of 22.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.29% share, up 54.55% over October 2021.
