September 2022 has seen an increase of 2.15% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 19.22% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 1.54% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 60.15% in September 2022, a 2.07% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 28.43% in September 2022, marking an 8.74% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 4.06% in September 2022, a 55.56% drop from August 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 4.19% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s aerospace, defence & security industry during September 2022 over previous month.
The Boeing posted 137 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a decline of 29.38% over the previous month, followed by Elettronica with 120 jobs and a 71.43% growth. Thales with 50 IT jobs and Raytheon Technologies with 28 jobs, recorded a 38.89% rise and a 31.71% drop, respectively, while NewRocket recorded a 52.94% decline with 8 job postings during September 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s aerospace, defence & security industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 73.35% share in September 2022, a 2.03% decrease over August 2022. Australia featured next with a 13.96% share, down 29.49% over the previous month. Singapore recorded a 4.31% share, a drop of 10.53% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.41%, up by 20.81% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 35.79% share, registered a decline of 28.79% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 3.55% share, down 22.22% over August 2022.
