IMENCO Defense Solutions, the award-winning supplier of marine and naval visual surveillance systems based in Aberdeen & Wick UK, is proud to announce a recent major award for a fixed price, 5-year, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract from Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAVAIR) Lakehurst, Visual Landing Aids Group.

The rugged Imenco camera systems are being delivered via local representative Gardner Technologies Inc (GTI) to the US Navy, with initial deliveries called off between the fall of 2024 and summer of 2025.
The program objective is acquisition and support of rugged Imenco DHOSS and ODIN Naval Camera Stations to support Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment’s (ALRE) PMA251 Visual Landing Aids (VLA) Programs. The Imenco Camera Stations aid in providing low-light surveillance, recording and video distribution of flight deck and surrounding airspace on USN aircraft carriers, frigates and amphibious-class ships. The Imenco VLA Camera Stations further support safe flight operation and mishap investigations.

The Imenco DHOSS and ODIN Naval Pan, Tilt & Zoom (PTZ) Camera Stations have recently gone though months of rigorous qualifications before they were successfully accepted by NAVAIR.
The Imenco DHOSS Dual Sensor Naval PTZ Camera Station will be launched in the US at the forthcoming Sea Air Space Expo, National Harbor, MD, 8th to 10th April 2024. Please visit the Imenco Booth #2005, to find out more.

David Fleming, Marine & Naval Projects Group Manager, at Imenco Defense Solutions, comments, “We are extremely grateful to the strenuous efforts of the NAVAIR and GTI teams for their assistance in securing this important contract. We are delighted to be able to build on our expertise of supplying the previous analog HOSS based systems to the US Navy for the past 25 years and are confident that the new Digital HOSS and ODIN naval cameras will provide game changing 24/7 surveillance capabilities to the fleet.”

Chintan Patel, Program Manager IPT Lead at NAVAIR also commented, “Integration of the DHOSS Dual Sensor Naval PTZ Camera and ODIN Naval PTZ Camera is a major step in transforming the legacy analog surveillance equipment to a more current and supportable digital platform. Low light coverage provided by the DHOSS Dual Sensor Naval PTZ Camera will provide the sailors with superior situational awareness during night operations. By partnering with GTI and Imenco, the Visual Landing Aid team is excited to bring this capability to Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment Surveillance Systems aboard CVNs, FFGs and LPDs.”
