The Royal Moroccan Air Force will receive Sniper Advanced Targeting Pods from Lockheed for its newly purchased F-16 block 50 aircraft.

The pod is fitted to the aircraft to aids in the real-time long-range identification of targets. The pod’s tracker can also employ advanced laser-guided weapons against moving targets.

The Sniper pods will include a video downlink to relay high-resolution, streaming video to forward-deployed forces for non-traditional ISR and rapid target coordination through the Rover ground receiver.

The air force will take delivery of Sniper pods over the next two years to support aircraft integration and fielding.

The $30m contract falls under US foreign military sale.
