The two Sineva SS-N-23 missiles, also known as Blue missiles, hit the target at the Kura testing range on the territory of Kamchatka peninsula in the Russian Far East.
Sineva missiles have been in active service in the Russian military since 2007 and are capable of carrying up to ten nuclear warheads.
The test launches also include three third-generation liquid-fuelled ballistic missiles with maximum flight distance of 8,300km.
During the navy drills held in 2008, one of the above rockets flew 11,547km, surpassing the most powerful US missile, the Trident II.
