Vietnam has offered repair and maintenance facilities for Indian warships at its ports in a move to further enhance bilateral military relations.

Vietnam’s offer came after India extended help to upgrade and enhance capabilities of the Vietnamese armed forces, in particular the navy.

The Indian Navy will also increase its involvement in other types of warships including maintenance of the new Vietnam Kilo Class submarines from Russia.

India is supplying spare parts for the Petya Class light frigates being operated by the Vietnamese Navy, according to the Indian Express.
