North Korea’s new midget submarines are equipped with torpedo launch tubes, according to intelligence sources.

Satellite imagery and an intelligence tip confirmed that 4m-long lightweight torpedo launch tubes are attached to North Korea’s new line of Daedong-B mini-submarines.

The 17m-long Daedong-B model is a 4m-wide and 2.2m-high mini-submarine with the rear of the vessel designed like a ramp to enable agents to get on and off easily.

North Korea is capable of carrying out attacks with its mini-submarines, along with its Yono-class submersibles, according to Joongang Daily.

The nation is known for its preference for torpedoes, however, it has not made any direct threats to attack South Korea with its torpedoes after the sinking of the South Korean warship Cheonan.
