Yuri Dolgoruki, a Borie Class submarine of Project 955, was launched in April 2007 and completed the programme of shipyard trials last year.
The submarine will be put into service with the new Bulava missile, which is also undergoing trials.
At 170m-long and 13.5m-wide, Yuri can accommodate a crew of 107 and carry up to 12 Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles, whilst also containing rescue pods.
The first Bulava test launch from Yuri Dolgoruki will be conducted next month, according to ITAR-TASS News Agency.
Russia is planning to build eight Borei submarines, which will form the foundation of the naval strategic nuclear forces.
