The US Navy has contracted CACI to provide acquisition and lifecycle support for the Naval Sea Systems Command’s (NAVSEA) Expeditionary Warfare and Maritime Surveillance Program offices (PMS408 and PMS485).
Under the $53m modification contract, CACI will provide data management, financial management, and technical support for the offices’ equipment and missions, including explosive ordnance disposal, joint counter radio-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) electronic warfare, anti-terrorism afloat, maritime surveillance systems, and naval special warfare.
CACI US Operations president and chief operating officer John Mengucci said: "On this follow-on contract supporting the Expeditionary Warfare and Maritime Surveillance Programs, we continue to provide a strong team that assures the navy of cost savings and increased productivity in their acquisition processes."
The company has been supporting these complex acquisition programmes since 2005, to assist navy field critical in-theatre systems including counter-IED jamming devices, bomb bots, ship self-defence capabilities, and long-range submarine tracking systems.
Previous accomplishments of the company include developing an interactive data environment to make workflows and processes more efficient, reduce cycle time, and increase productivity.
CACI president and chief executive officer Dan Allen said that the recent contract was expected to help meet troops’ vital needs as the country sought new and improved ways to safeguard its troops.
"We are proud to provide the support and solutions to help the navy field critical systems that will save lives in theatre," Allen added.
The follow-on contract has a six-month base period of performance with two six-month options.
