Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Aeronautics Systems, has been awarded an order worth $76m (€70m) to provide spares for three unique configuration E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft destined for the government of France.

This order includes support for flight testing and an initial two-year sustainment period after delivery. The contract work will be performed at various locations across the United States and is expected to be completed by August 2027.

The Naval Air Systems Command, based in Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity responsible for overseeing the project.

The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye advanced radar system and sophisticated sensors enable it to detect and track targets over long distances, making it an asset for the government of France in its defence operations.

Northrop Grumman, a global aerospace and defence technology company, is well-positioned to deliver the necessary spares and support services for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft.

This contract underscores the strong partnership between Northrop Grumman and the government of France, further strengthening the defence ties between the nation and business.

In March 2022, it was announced that the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye would soon make its first landing onboard the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle.

The procurement of spares for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft will enhance the operational readiness of the French military and contribute to the region's overall security and defence capabilities.

This year, Northrop Grumman sustained two US Navy E-2Ds, with the company procuring long-lead parts and associated support for two E-2D Advanced Hawkeye plus-up aircraft for the US Navy.
