Ultra Maritime has confirmed that all five of its latest US-specification sonobuoys are now ready for full-scale production.
The sonobuoys, namely Q-53H, Q-62G, Q-101B, Q-125B, and Q-36B, are part of the Sea Revealer family and, according to the company, form the core of contemporary anti-submarine warfare operations.

This family of sonobuoys supports standard and wide-area maritime search missions and is designed to enhance the detection, tracking, and localization of advanced adversary submarines and uncrewed maritime assets.
With this milestone, Ultra Maritime claims it is the first company globally to offer a complete suite of these critical ASW technologies.
In a 2 September release, the company stated the newly qualified variants are being produced in significant numbers across facilities in the US, UK, and Canada.
Supported by recent upgrades to its Columbia City, Indiana, site, Ultra Maritime manufactures more than 1,000 sonobuoys daily.
These facility enhancements include expanded capacity, new manufacturing processes, and have reportedly driven substantial economic growth in north-east Indiana, with hundreds of new jobs created over the past two years.
Headquartered in Braintree, Massachusetts, Ultra Maritime is one of the sole providers of G-size sonobuoys and the only manufacturer producing buoys at multiple locations globally.
The company said it continues to develop advanced sonar technologies, signal processing capabilities, and manufacturing methods required for modern naval operations.
Last month, it demonstrated its Sea Spear passive sonar and SSQ-125B active sonobuoy together to detect and localise uncrewed underwater vehicles during the US Navy’s 2026 Lanternfish exercise.
Ultra Maritime said: “As adversary undersea threats become increasingly sophisticated, the company remains focused on delivering resilient, scalable and operationally proven ASW solutions for allied naval forces around the world.”
Separately, in July, Lockheed Martin agreed to acquire Ultra Maritime in a deal valued at $3.45bn. The proposed transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
