Boeing has submitted bids for two contracts to provide a complete range of aviation services to the US Navy.

The US Naval Air Systems Command is expected to award the contracts, which have an estimated combined value of $600m over five years, in February 2011.

The contracts cover service support for 170 aircraft including the F / A-18, V-22, P-8 and AV-8B, and will support unmanned airborne systems and other aircraft platforms.

The bid covers aircraft maintenance, modifications and aircrew services support for the Navy’s Atlantic and Pacific regions.

Boeing is delivering engineering and maintenance support services to the Naval Air Warfare Center Air Division’s F / A-18 flight test programmes and for the NAWC’s Weapons Division at China Lake, US.
