The naval NH90 Nato frigate helicopter (NFH) variant is the first of the 20 helicopters ordered by the navy.
Primarily designed for autonomous anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and anti-surface warfare (ASuW) missions, the helicopter can also conduct missions including search and rescue, troop transport, medical evacuation and amphibious support.
The deck-lock system, deck traversing system, and the automatic blade and tail folding system of the helicopter allow it to operate from small frigates even in high sea states.
