VSD, a subcontractor to Swiftships Shipbuilders, will provide training and training systems to the Iraqi Navy.

Under the $23m contract, the company will develop and deliver training as well as manage a team of contractors in the development of the training systems to include a full mission bridge trainer, a small arms trainer and a firefighting trainer.

In addition, VSD will supervise the training of approximately 100 Iraqi sailors in Morgan City, Louisiana over the next year.

Work will be carried out by VSD in collaboration with QED Systems and Northrop Grumman Electronics Systems Division over the next 13 months.
