The Malaysian Navy has successfully completed live firing of a missile launched from its naval surface-to-air system in the straits of Melaka.

The Aspide missile was launched from the Navy’s warship KD Laksamana Hang Nadim and hit a target flown by a Learjet, bernama.com reports, quoting a senior navy official.

The missile campaign was conducted coinciding with the weekly Pangkor War exercise series.

The missile was directed by a semi-active radar with high accuracy up to a distance of 20km at the speed of 600m per second.
