The US Navy along with the coastguard and Corpus Christi authorities in Texas have conducted an trial to test their tactics, equipment, procedures and reaction to an underwater explosive threat in any port in the country.

The operation emphasised the techniques and tactics that can be applied to any port in the country and have undergone a task to develop a preliminary concept of operations for various events here in the strategic national port.

Students of the Naval Postgraduate School got the chance to assist members of the mine warfare community in this experiment.

This operation served as a fleet-approved concept to help participants to improve their skills and tactics in case of a real maritime homeland security incident.

After the experiment all the participants were responsible for forming battle plans on their own as they do in an actual emergency.

The experiment provides a baseline environmental survey of the waters to the port folder that is referred to by port captains and other crucial responders in the event of an emergency.
