The NH90 NFH will perform a variety of roles including anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare missions.
The helicopter is equipped with a comprehensive mission equipment package for performing additional missions including search and rescue, maritime patrol, vertical replenishment, troop transport, medical evacuation and amphibious support roles.
The helicopter is designed to operate in unfavourable weather conditions and can conduct day and night operations even from small frigates.
A total of 46 NH90 NFH units have been ordered by the Italian Navy.
