The other line of action that the Defence Ministry is focused on is manufacturing large destroyers, reported Fars News Agency.
The Industrial Development and Renovation Organisation of Iran (IDRO) has plans to build five 100m-long, 34m-wide oceangoing ships.
Iran’s first indigenous oceangoing ship, Iran Alborz, with a displacement capacity of 20,000t, was deployed on its first mission in August 2009.
