Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems has secured a contract from the US Navy for sustainment of the Littoral Combat Ship Component Based Total Ship System.

Under the terms of the $789m cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price and cost contract, the company will provide support for the combat management system of the service’s littoral combat ships.

The contract for the Littoral Combat Ship Component Based Total Ship System – 21st Century – (LCS COMBATSS-21) and associated combat system elements has a base value of $98.6m.

Lockheed’s work will include the development, integration, test and delivery of future combat system baseline upgrades for in-service ships.

The company will support ship integration, installation and checkout, developmental and operational test, and will develop training and logistics products.

It will also provide field technical support for combat systems while providing hardware engineering, equipment procurement and life-cycle supportability engineering and fleet support for fielded baselines.

The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity. The contract was a sole-source acquisition in accordance with 10 US Code 2304(c)(1).

In January this year, Lockheed Martin secured the US Navy’s contract modification worth $43m for E-2D Advanced Hawkeye’s AN/ALQ-217 electronic support measures upgrade. The contract will increase the scope of the existing E-2D electronic support measures.
