US military shipbuilding firm Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) has purchased Maryland-based cybersecurity solutions and services company G2 for an undisclosed amount.
With completion of the acquisition, G2 will now be integrated into HII’s Technical Solutions division.
G2 is known for its expertise in national cyber defence, computer network exploitation, cyber analytics, and the distributed analytic platform.
Led by founder and CEO Paul Green, the company provides solutions to challenges that affect the country’s ability to gather, target, store, analyse and defend digital information.
HII president and CEO Mike Petters said: “The acquisition of G2 adds advanced cybersecurity capabilities to our portfolio and supports our strategy to expand our professional services business.
“G2 has unique cyber experience that will enhance our information assurance offerings and operations. We are pleased to welcome G2 to the HII family.”
Robert W Baird & Co government services investment banking team head Jean Stack and John Song advised G2 on the transaction, reported bizjournals.com.
HII’s Technical Solutions division provides an array of professional services through its Fleet Support, Mission Driven Innovative Solutions, Nuclear & Environmental, and Oil & Gas groups.
