Dutch naval shipyard Damen Naval has confirmed a new contract with Terma, a Danish defence technology firm, for the provision of C-Guard Decoy Launching System.
The system will be installed on the Plataforma Estrategica de Superficie (PES) frigate that is currently under construction for the Colombian Navy.

Equipped with Anti-Aircraft Warfare and Anti-Submarine Warfare modules, C-Guard is designed to safeguard naval vessels from range of incoming threats.
Currently, more than 150 systems are operational across the globe.
Damen Naval project director Jasper Oreel said: “We are pleased to integrate Terma’s advanced C-Guard system into the PES frigate. Its proven performance and modular configuration are a strong match for the mission versatility of the SIGMA 10514 platform. We look forward to successful project execution and continued cooperation with Terma.”

The frigate, based on Damen Naval’s SIGMA 10514 design, will be the first vessel of its kind constructed in Colombia through a collaborative effort with local shipbuilder COTECMAR.

Earlier in 2025, Damen Naval contracted Alewijnse, an electrical engineering group, as its main collaborator for integrating electrical systems into the PES frigate.
Swedish defence contractor Saab was also contracted to supply combat management system for the frigate.
