General Dynamics NASSCO, a subsidiary of General Dynamics Corp, designs and constructs navy and commercial ships and provides repair services to the US Navy.

NASSCO specializes in navy auxiliary and support ships and is currently building the expeditionary sea base (ESB), which serves as an afloat forward-staging base for US Marines and special operations forces, and the John Lewis-class (T-AO-205) fleet replenishment oiler. NASSCO provides full-service maintenance and surface-ship repair operations in areas with Navy fleet concentration such as San Diego, California; Norfolk, Virginia; Mayport, Florida; and Bremerton, Washington. It is one of three shipyards in the marine systems group of General Dynamics. NASSCO’s shipyard facilities have the capability to build commercial cargo ships and tankers and Navy auxiliary ships.

The company provides business aviation; land and expeditionary combat systems, armaments and munitions; shipbuilding and marine systems; and information systems and technologies. Its capabilities include advanced ship repair, conversion, and maintenance of commercial and national defence assets.
