2. Tyler Rogoway’s tweet on testing of India’s long-range missile

3. H I Sutton’s tweet on expansion of Pakistan Navy’s shipyard

H I Sutton, a defence and aerospace reporter, shared an article confirming the expansion of Pakistan Navy’s shipyard at Karachi. The expansion started in 2015 and includes a new construction hall along with Norwegian designed Syncrolift dry docks with lifting capacity of 7,881t.

The new dry dock is large enough to handle eight Type-039B Hangor Class submarines, which is a variant of the Chinese Navy’s Type-039A Yuan Class. The new submarines are capable of boosting Pakistan’s submarine fleet by more than two times. They are being built by China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) and Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works. The first submarine is expected to be delivered by 2022.

4. Naval News’ tweet on French frigate Alasce

Naval News, a website providing news on naval technology, tweeted on Alasce, an air-defence frigate developed for the French Navy. It is the second air-defence frigate and the seventh FREMM European multi-mission frigate ordered by the French Navy to replace the Cassard-class frigates.
