The vessel is equipped with advanced military sensors and a range of potent weapons systems, which enable Diamond to detect and terminate any airborne, surface and sub surface threat.

Constructed by BAE systems and launched in 2007, Diamond was deployed in the Middle East Area of Operations in 2012, and had been a part of Operation Recsyr in February 2014.

Currently, the destroyer is attached to the UK’s new Joint Expeditionary Force (Maritime) (JEF M), which can deploy anywhere in the world within five days of notice.
