The Finnish Defence Forces' Logistics Command is seeking proposals for delivery of a battle system for the navy's future Squadron 2020 vessels.
Under this plan, the command is set to send requests to 12 domestic and foreign companies to participate in tendering for the system with replies expected by 13 February 2017.

An invitation to negotiate and an invitation to tender will be sent to chosen suppliers in the spring of next year.
The new battle system will feature command and control systems, weapon systems, and sensor systems, and will include sea mines and missiles.

While the first round of negotiations will be conducted next year, the deadline for submission of a preliminary tender is slated in autumn of the same year.
By the end of 2017, the second round of negotiations will begin, which will continued until the end of 2018.
However, the final round of tenders and signing of the deal will take place during 2018.
A statement of intent has already been agreed with Finland-based Rauma Marine Constructions to assess its shipyard’s capacity, security of supply and other preconditions to develop surface combatants.
