Under the $46m contract, the company will procure 60 LBT-AG kits in a variety of configurations for the navy’s E/A-18G Growler and the marines’ EA-6B Prowler aircraft.
Developed by Cobham, the LBT is specifically designed to disrupt enemy radar and communications and protect strike aircraft, ships and ground troops.
The contract awarded by the Naval Air Systems Command brings the total number of production transmitters ordered to 217 of 292 required transmitters.
To date, 80 transmitters have been received by the US Navy while the deliveries of first and second lot production will run to 2012.
