The Bangladeshi Navy has received two offshore patrol vessels, BNS Dhaleshwari and BNS Bijoy, from A&P Tyne after undergoing successful overhaul.

The two ships had a complete overhaul of the main engines, gearboxes, shafts and motors, and the installation of new diesel generators and deck cranes.

UK-based A&P Tyne was awarded a multimillion-pound contract to refit former Royal Navy vessels HMS Leeds Castle and HMS Dumbarton Castle for the Bangladeshi Navy.

The ships, to be sent back to Bangladesh, will be deployed into service, according to the JournalLive.
