The US Naval Air Systems Command has awarded a contract to the Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office for the upgrade of the CV-22 Osprey Training Devices.

Under the $34.1m delivery order, the company will provide upgrades for the block 20/C CV-22 training devices, including the cabin aperational flight trainer (COFT), cabin part task trainer, and the wing part task trainer.

CV-22 Osprey level D simulators feature a night vision goggle training component, aircraft survivability equipment (ASE), forward-looking infrared (FLIR) simulation capabilities and other complex systems.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facility in Arizona, Texas and Pennsylvania, US, and is expected to be completed in June 2014.
