Sysorex has been awarded a business and force support (BFS) indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract by the US Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic.

Under the cost-plus-fixed-fee agreement, the company will also provide a complete range of non-inherently governmental services and solutions related to equipment and services associated with full system lifecycle support.

The company will help support mission-essential business operations and other force support functions by developing, delivering and supporting systems and applications in the areas of acquisition, financial management, civilian personnel, legal, administration, military manpower and personnel.

Additional areas include logistics support for facilities, environmental, material, and supply management, training and education, medical, travel, strategic planning, base facility support, as well as security systems.

The BFS portfolio involves enhancing network, system, and security services, as well as providing cost-related means for upgrading systems to provide enhanced capabilities, scalable to large enterprises, based on recognised quality standards.

Tasks will include efforts to transition customers to enterprise solutions using advanced technologies that contribute to operational efficiency and flexibility, while reducing long-term sustainment costs.

The contract value is $49.9m and comes with a one-year base period of performance and options, while the cumulative value across all awardees is an estimated $249.5m.

Work under the contract is scheduled to be complete by January 2014, and if all options are exercised, work is likely to continue until January 2018.
