With capabilities to operate in any weather conditions or time of day, the radar will capture real-time, high-resolution imaging for both land and maritime environments.

The radar can also be rapidly integrated with various platforms, including both crewed and crewed systems. It is crafted to address complex mission requirements today and in the future.

In addition, the open architecture design facilitates cost-effective and swift upgrades.

Raytheon advanced products and solutions president Daniel Theisen said: “This radar represents the next step in Raytheon’s long legacy of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance innovation.

“By merging the proven capabilities of HISAR and SeaVue, we’re delivering a flexible, exportable and affordable radar system designed to outperform on the most demanding multi-domain surveillance missions.”

SharpSight is built for high-altitude operations requiring precision and sustained engagement.

Its applications span anti-surface warfare, border security, coastal watch, search and rescue operations, and extended-range surveillance.

The radar’s detection capability is augmented by an automatic identification system (AIS), allowing it to discern, monitor, and categorise more than 1,000 targets simultaneously.

With extended range for detecting smaller targets, SharpSight allows platforms to function at elevated altitudes and increased distances, contributing to enhanced mission duration.

It adheres to current US government export policy, allowing the provision of its intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance technology to international partners and allies.

Recently, Raytheon received an order from the German government for SPY-6(V)1 radar systems intended for its new F127 frigates.
