CSC to Support US Navy's Littoral Combat Ship Programme

The US Navy has awarded a $169m contract to CSC to provide support services for the navy's littoral combat ship (LCS) Program Office, PMS 501.

Under the five-year contract, the company will provide systems and life-cycle engineering and support, production planning for LCS seaframes and combat systems being constructed by Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics.

The LCS Program Office, PMS 501's mission is to develop, build and test littoral combat ships, which are small, manoeuvrable surface combatants specifically designed to operate in littoral zones close to shore.
