Teledyne FLIR Marine, a division of Teledyne Technologies, has introduced the M364C-USV, a multispectral camera platform, which it says can help autonomous and uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) operate day or night.
In a release dated 26 August, the company said the camera brings together thermal and visible imaging capabilities to help operators manage practical challenges at sea, including safer navigation and timely hazard detection.

The M364C-USV is designed for use on remote, autonomous and uncrewed operations, providing what the company describes as “clear, actionable imagery” for navigation, obstacle avoidance, surveillance, security, environmental monitoring, and scientific research.
This imagery can be utilised for advanced analytics, AI-enabled workflows, and machine-vision applications, while aligned video and telemetry data are intended to enhance the reliability of tracking, navigation, and situational awareness in autonomous and uncrewed operations.
Designed to function in glare, haze, and low-visibility environments, the camera also incorporates a reinforced pan-and-tilt mechanism and a durable enclosure.
These attributes help ensure continuous access to real-time visual data for vessel operators managing navigation, surveillance, and monitoring from remote locations.
The platform provides synchronised video streams and telemetry that, according to Teledyne FLIR Marine, can support advanced automation and analytics.
This means vessel systems are equipped with more reliable information for tasks such as object detection, route planning, and mission management, addressing the increasing reliance on data-driven decision-making in the uncrewed maritime sector.

Teledyne FLIR Marine confirmed M364C-USV camera systems are now available for order. The company offers a two-year limited warranty designed to meet the requirements of high-usage, long-duration USV deployments.
