The Russian Federation Defence Ministry has announced that crew of the Baltic Fleet Steregushchy-class corvette ‘Stoiky’ performed air strikes in the Mediterranean Sea.
The air strikes included conditional artillery and rocket fire. The ‘on-board target designation systems’ were used to help hit the mimic air and sea targets.
According to Press Service of the Western Military District, combat crews of batteries of artillery systems A-190, AK-630 and Redut anti-aircraft missile system carried out the artillery shooting.
The ship crew also trained on how to defend the vessel from a mock enemy’s unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) threat.
A statement issued by the Press Service read: “The soldiers of the anti-terror units practiced in organising the protection and defence of the corvette when parked on an unprotected roadstead and stopping an attack on a squad of high-speed small-sized targets.”

Designed by Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau, Stoiky is a vessel of the Russian Navy’s Project 20380.
The other ships include Steregushchy, Soobrazitelny and Boyky.
Project 20380 Steregushchy-class corvettes are multirole vessels built by the JSC Severnaya Verf shipyard and Amur Shipbuilding Plant. They are intended to replace the Grisha-class corvettes.
