American defence and government services contractor PAE has secured a contract to provide F-5 fighter aircraft contractor logistics support for the US Navy.

Awarded by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), the sole-source, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract is valued at $98m.

Logistics support for the Northrop Grumman-built aircraft will be provided a period of 18 months.

PAE interim president and CEO Charlie Peiffer said: “PAE is uniquely experienced and skilled to deliver solutions on this contract.

“We look forward to continuing our longstanding relationship with the US Navy by keeping its F-5 fleet mission-ready through support backed by our enduring commitment to excellence.”

The company will perform all maintenance and logistics support services for 43 F-5F and F-5N aircraft.

The works will be executed by the company’s Readiness and Sustainment team at Naval Air Station Key West in Florida, Naval Air Station Fallon in Nevada, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) in Yuma, Arizona and Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans in Louisiana.

The company noted that the activities under the contract will be carried out until January 2023.

PAE employs a global workforce of over 20,000 in approximately 60 countries. The company delivers a wide range of operational support services to meet the client’s critical requirements.

In December 2016, PAE secured a contract from the Tunisian Government to provide maritime surveillance support to help maintain security of its territorial waters.
