The US Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded a firm-fixed-price contract to iGov to modernise the US Marine Corps (USMC) AN/TSQ-239 Combat Operations Center (COC).
Under the four-year contract, iGov will update the USMC’s COC infrastructure to increase performance, simplify baseline management and reduce operational and lifecycle support costs.
Designed to provide mobile, modular command and control centres across the tactical command from battalion to divisional level, the COC offers tactical data and command and control (C2) systems to the headquarters such as manoeuvre, firing, intelligence, logistics and administration.
iGov president and COO Mike Tyrrell said that the company would provide critical C2 capabilities to support the nation’s marine missions.
"As part of our core company mission, we strive to deliver mission-centric IT solutions that simultaneously lower acquisition and operational support costs for any programme," Tyrrell said.
Featuring non-secure, secret voice and data communications, voice over internet protocol (VoIP) capabilities and networked servers, the system enables multiple networks such as SIPRNET, NIPRNET, and coalition to provide security and accessibility among interoperable users.
iGov CEO and chairman Patrick Neven said: "The ongoing success of our Marine Corps Tactical Collaborative Work Suite 2.0 (TCWS 2.0) programme, combined with winning the COC award, is a testament to our proven ability to successfully support the Marine Corps expeditionary IT programmes."
Within the approved acquisition objective, the company will modernise the existing hardware as a part of the contract.
The initial value of the contract is nearly $100m, which can increase in future.
