The trials were jointly conducted by the US Navy and Lockheed Martin team including Marinette Marine Corporation (MMC).
During the trials, the ship’s propulsion, communications, navigation and mission systems were tested to determine its operational readiness.
The vessel also underwent manoeuvrability tests, high-speed runs, rescue boat launch and recovery and tracking exercises, with other ship and system evaluations.
Fort Worth will undergo acceptance trials before the scheduled delivery to the navy in 2012.
