The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has selected Thales to develop several capability projects for the country's navy in the areas of electronic warfare, anti-submarine warfare (ASW), and security and surveillance.

The wide range of solutions to be provided by Thales will enable the UAE Navy to perform its missions in protecting the country and enhance its coastal security, as well as ensure the protection of critical infrastructures.

Thales has deployed its latest full suite of naval solutions on board the UAE Navy’s first-of-class offshore patrol vessel (OPV) Arialah, and has been dedicated to the Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA).

Thales International Development senior executive vice-president Pascale Sourisse said: “Coastal security and protection of critical infrastructure are of paramount importance to the UAE.

“As a key player in defence and security in this region, Thales is delighted to support our longstanding partners the UAE Armed Forces with these next-generation systems.”
