The Northrop Grumman-built EA-6B Prowler aircraft has completed its service with the US Navy and has returned to its home base in the US.

The aircraft was flown by the US Navy aircrew from Electronic Attack Squadron One Two Nine (VAQ-129), which is the only EA-6B Prowler and EA-18G Growler training squadron for navy and marine corps.

The twin-engine, electronic warfare aircraft has been primarily designed to jam and intercept enemy radar and communications and perform electronic surveillance.

The aircraft will undergo a series of modifications over the next few months proir to demilitarisation.
